Gay Guide to Salzburg
Salzburg packs an active queer scene into a small city, most of it in the Andräviertel on the right bank of the Old Town and walkable end to end. HOSI Salzburg, the local Homosexual Initiative, runs a café-bar and throws the region's biggest queer club night, the HOSI-Fest, several times a year. Bars like Mexx and the men-only Dark Eagle fill out the nightlife. Salzburg Pride brings parades and parties to the city each September. Better known for Mozart and Baroque architecture, the city still keeps a steady year-round calendar of queer events.
