About LGBTQ+ Munich

Munich's gay life centers on the Glockenbachviertel, a leafy district south of the center around Hans-Sachs-Strasse and Müllerstrasse, home to the city's original crop of gay venues. Bars there include the long-running Café Nil, the bear-friendly Edelheiss, and the fetish spot Ochsengarten, with clubs sitting closer to the central station. Christopher Street Day, Munich's Pride, takes over in July and is one of Germany's largest, drawing crowds past 250,000. The Bavarian capital mixes an upscale, walkable scene with beer-garden culture and a strong queer presence at Oktoberfest.
