Gay Guide to Cologne
Cologne is one of Germany's most prominent gay cities, with a scene centered on the Bermuda Triangle around Rudolfplatz and the streets near Heumarkt. Schaafenstrasse is a focal point of the bar and club district. The city is best known for Cologne Pride and its Christopher Street Day celebration, one of the largest LGBTQ+ events in Europe, drawing huge crowds each summer. Cologne also has a long Carnival tradition with a strong queer presence. The scene is open and busy year-round, with an easygoing Rhineland character.
