About LGBTQ+ Aachen

Aachen sits in the far west of Germany where the Dutch and Belgian borders meet, a university city about an hour from Cologne. It doesn't have a dedicated gay quarter, but the community group Rainbow e.V. anchors local queer life and a regular dance party runs at Apollo Kino & Bar on the student-heavy Pontstraße. CSD Aachen brings a parade and festival to the city in late August. The big-city scenes of Cologne and Düsseldorf are a short train ride away, so Aachen works as a relaxed base with major nightlife close at hand.
