Ho Chi Minh City has Vietnam's biggest gay scene, concentrated in District 1 around Bui Vien and Đề Thám, the streets that also form the city's backpacker quarter. Thi Bar is a long-running fixture, with drag nights at Frolic and a stylish crowd at Chin Chin, plus the daytime Azure Pool Bar in District 3. Vietnam has grown steadily more open, and its largest city hosts an annual VietPride. Still widely called Saigon, the city pairs fast-moving street life, food, and a young, energetic nightlife where bars open and change quickly.
