About LGBTQ+ Pattaya
Thailand's marriage equality law took effect on 23 January 2025, and Pattaya, a couple of hours' drive from Bangkok, has long been one of Asia's busiest gay beach towns. Its scene has two centres: the newer one in Jomtien, south of the city, and the historic strip in central Pattaya.
The Jomtien Complex, a short walk from Dongtan Beach, is now the busiest part of gay Pattaya, a cluster of open-air bars, restaurants and massage shops where Momo Turn Ba's street-side seating is a popular first stop. Dongtan itself is the town's gay-popular stretch of sand.

Boyztown, on Pattayaland Soi 3 off Second Road, is the original gay strip, lined with go-go bars such as Toy Boys and with cabaret shows, and the smaller Sunee Plaza is nearby. Sansuk, on Phra Tamnak Hill between the two areas, is Pattaya's gay sauna and guesthouse.
Circuit Festival Asia brings its big dance parties to Pattaya in mid-June, and the Pattaya International Pride Festival follows at the end of the month with a parade along Beach Road.
