About LGBTQ+ Krabi
Thailand legalized same-sex marriage in January 2025, the first country in Southeast Asia to take that step, adding legal equality to a culture already known for its warmth toward LGBTQ+ travelers. Krabi, on the Andaman coast, is a destination for beaches and limestone scenery rather than nightlife, and it is welcoming to gay visitors without having a defined gay scene.
The resort areas of Ao Nang and Railay Beach draw plenty of LGBTQ+ couples, and gay-run guesthouses and beach bars add to the easy atmosphere, but there is no gay district or club circuit here. Krabi is for relaxation, island-hopping, and quiet, not for partying.
