About LGBTQ+ Da Nang
Vietnam does not criminalize same-sex relationships, and social attitudes have grown notably relaxed, especially in tourist-facing cities, though the country stops short of legal recognition for same-sex couples. Da Nang, the coastal hub between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, is laid-back and visitor-friendly, with a nonchalant everyday attitude toward LGBTQ+ people.
The city has no gay district and only a handful of dedicated venues, which come and go; Memory Lounge, a riverfront bar, has been cited as Da Nang's first openly queer spot, alongside a few other welcoming bars. Most of the nightlife is mixed rather than specifically gay.

What Da Nang offers is ease: beaches, riverside cafes, and a tolerant atmosphere rather than a concentrated scene. LGBTQ+ travelers generally move through the city comfortably, and while there is no Pride march on the scale of the big cities, the mood is open and unbothered.
