About LGBTQ+ Barcelona
Spain legalized same-sex marriage in July 2005, becoming the third country in the world to do so after the Netherlands and Belgium. Trans-rights legislation passed at the national level in February 2023, allowing gender-marker changes without medical certification for adults aged 16 and over.
