Canal Parade and citywide venues
Amsterdam throws its Pride on the water, and in 2026 it hosts the world's: WorldPride runs 25 July through 8 August, folded into Pride Amsterdam's citywide festival. The signature event is the Canal Parade on Saturday 1 August, a procession of decorated boats along the canals rather than a march through the streets, with a one-time WorldPride stadium of some 10,000 seats built on the Prinsengracht so spectators can watch the boats pass through.
The opening weekend begins with the Pride Walk through the city center into Vondelpark, where Pride Park hosts the Rainbow Market, Sport Pride, and Youth Pride, and street parties fill the center on 31 July and 1 August. The second week shifts to Museumplein for the WorldPride Village and a run of open-air concerts, alongside a human rights conference at the Beurs van Berlage, the WorldPride March, and free open-air film screenings across the city.
The setting fits: the Netherlands was the first country in the world to legalize same-sex marriage, in 2001, and Amsterdam's queer life is woven through the center, from the bars of Reguliersdwarsstraat to the leather scene on Warmoesstraat. Expect the 2026 edition far bigger and busier than a normal year, and book accommodation early.

Four days of bear events across the city, built around club nights, bar takeovers and a main party on the Saturday. Organised independently of the summer Pride and drawing a European bear crowd to venues in the centre.
Amsterdam Pride is held in early August and is famous for its Canal Parade, a procession of decorated boats along the Prinsengracht and surrounding canals, which is unusual among Prides worldwide. A week of street parties fills the center, particularly around the Reguliersdwarsstraat. The canal route draws very large crowds along the banks, so arrive early for a good spot.
