Iconic Australian LGBTQ+ festival ending in a parade on Oxford Street. One of the Southern Hemisphere's most celebrated Pride events.
Sydney's flagship LGBTQ+ celebration is the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, held across February and March rather than in the northern-summer Pride season. The centerpiece is the night-time parade along Oxford Street through Darlinghurst, preceded by weeks of festival events. Sydney hosted WorldPride in 2023. The parade draws enormous crowds, so plan a viewing spot and transport in advance.
