About LGBTQ+ Seville
Andalusia is the part of Spain outsiders reliably assume is the most conservative, and in 2014 it passed the first gender self-determination law in the country. Law 2/2014, drafted with the Asociación de Transexuales de Andalucía and published here in Seville, stripped out the requirement for a medical diagnosis and established the right to determine your own gender as a basic entitlement. Fifteen other autonomous communities followed before Spain legislated nationally in 2023. Andalusia added a broader LGBTI equality law in 2017. The region got there first, and nobody outside Spain noticed.
Alameda de Hércules is the scene, a long tree-lined plaza at the north end of the old center that works as the city's living room and its gay quarter at the same time. 1987 Bar, Dilema and the Alameda Ritual Club sit on the plaza itself, with El Bosque Animado and El Barón Rampante just off it on Calle Arias Montano.

Itaca takes the club nights and the drag, down a passage off Calle Amor de Dios, with Obbio nearby. Pride B4R, Men to Men, The Boyz and Bunker cover the cruisier end, and the Termas Hispalis and Cube Urban saunas round it out.
Seville Pride lands in late June as part of the wider Andalusian celebration, which means the region turns out rather than just the city.
Two things shape a visit here more than anything in the listings. July and August regularly pass forty degrees, which makes spring and autumn the only sane seasons. And nothing starts before midnight, including on a Tuesday, so adjust accordingly or spend the trip going to bed early and wondering where everyone is.
