England and Wales decriminalised sex between men in 1967. Norwich, the historic county town of Norfolk, has a small but well-established scene, most of it within walking distance of the medieval centre.
The Castle Inn on Spitalfields is the city's main gay pub and club, open daily with late weekend hours, and the Catherine Wheel on St Augustines Street is a gay pub north of the centre.

On Prince of Wales Road, Fetch is a gay bar and club, open on Friday and Saturday nights, and Loft on nearby Rose Lane is the late-night club from Thursday to Saturday.
Norwich Pride in late July sets off from City Hall at 1pm, with events at venues across the centre through the day.
