About LGBTQ+ Oxford

Oxford's gay scene is small, in keeping with a compact university city, but long-running and popular with locals. The Jolly Farmers on Paradise Street is one of the oldest LGBT+ pubs in the country, a gay bar since the early 1980s, with cabaret and quiz nights. Glamorous Oxford in St Clement's is the newer cocktail-bar-and-club option, bringing in touring drag acts and student nights. Oxford Pride runs events through the year. Beyond the bars, the city has a deep network of queer community groups tied to its colleges and student population. The venues are walkable and fill up on weekends.
