Chueca and Atocha to Colón
Madrid Pride, about ten days of concerts and street parties from late June into early July, with stages in Chueca, the Puerta del Sol and Plaza de España, the Carrera de Tacones heels race and the opening pregón. It ends with the State LGTBI+ March on the Saturday evening, from the Glorieta de Carlos V at Atocha up the Paseo del Prado, past Cibeles and along Recoletos to the Plaza de Colón.
Madrid hosts one of the largest Pride celebrations in the world, MADO (Madrid Orgullo), in early July, centered on the Chueca neighborhood. Highlights include the main parade along the Paseo del Prado, the opening Pregón, and the famous high-heel race (Carrera de Tacones) in Chueca. Madrid hosted WorldPride in 2017. The whole district becomes one large street party for several days, with very large crowds.
