Madrid hosts one of the largest Pride celebrations in the world, MADO (Madrid Orgullo), in early July, centered on the Chueca neighborhood. Highlights include the main parade along the Paseo del Prado, the opening Pregon, and the famous high-heel race (Carrera de Tacones) in Chueca. Madrid hosted WorldPride in 2017. The whole district becomes one large street party for several days, with very large crowds.
