Gay Guide to Liège

Liège, one of the largest cities in French-speaking Wallonia, concentrates its gay nightlife in Le Carré, the dense pedestrian maze of bars in the old center. La Guimbarde has been a gay-friendly fixture there for more than forty years, joined by spots like Le Moustache for drag nights and a handful of other bars and clubs. Liège does not hold a traditional Pride, but its Gay Street street party in mid-September draws thousands across the city. The Carré is compact and walkable, busy from early evening, giving the city an easy, lived-in scene rather than a tourist circuit.
