About LGBTQ+ Leeds
England decriminalized homosexuality in 1967 and opened marriage to same-sex couples in 2014. Leeds, the commercial heart of West Yorkshire, has a well-established and welcoming gay scene tucked into the oldest part of its center.
The hub is the Freedom Quarter, centered on Lower Briggate and The Calls, where the city's LGBTQ+ nightlife concentrates.
