Gay Guide to Eindhoven
The Netherlands became the first country in the world to open marriage to same-sex couples, in 2001. Eindhoven, the design and tech hub of the south, folds its gay nightlife into Stratumseind, the country's longest pub street, rather than walling it off.
De Regenboog, opened in 2018, sits right on the strip among the straight bars, and De Buurvrouw, further along the street, is Eindhoven's only lesbian bar. PallaZ, once the city's biggest gay bar on nearby Stratumsedijk, has closed, and apartments now stand on the site.
Off the strip, Pand54 on Prins Hendrikstraat is COC Eindhoven's gay café and community space, with social groups and events, and Sauna Tibet on Antoon Coolenlaan is the men's sauna.
Eindhoven has no big Pride of its own. For that, most people head to Amsterdam, or to Tilburg's Roze Maandag at the summer fair.
