Gay Guide to Alicante

Alicante's LGBTQ+ nightlife concentrates in the Casco Antiguo, the old town, where a small but long-running scene has grown up around a few core venues. El Forat, the city's oldest gay bar, has anchored the scene since the 1990s, alongside La Cúpula Azul, another old-town fixture known for its late-night crowd. Alicante Pride runs in late June or early July with a march and concerts through the city center. Spain has recognized same-sex marriage since 2005, and Alicante pairs its old-town nightlife with a Mediterranean beach-city pace, busiest through the summer high season.
