Gay Guide to Rome

Rome's gay scene has an official heart on Via di San Giovanni in Laterano, the "Gay Street" beside the Colosseum that the city designated in 2007, anchored by Coming Out, open daily since 2001. Nightlife also spreads to the Pigneto neighborhood and, in summer, to the open-air Gay Village in the Eur district. Roma Pride in June is one of Italy's largest, with a parade through the historic center past the Colosseum. The city blends ancient sightseeing with a relaxed, late-running scene that peaks in the warm months.
