About LGBTQ+ Naples
Italy only recognised same-sex civil unions in 2016 and still has no marriage equality, but Naples has an old tradition of its own: the femminielli, gender-variant people who have been part of the city's street life and folklore for centuries. Napoli Pride marked its 30th year in 2026.
There is no gay district. In the centro storico, Bar Fiorillo on Piazza Bellini isn't a gay bar as such, but it has become the meeting point for the city's LGBTQ+ crowd, spilling out onto the square on warm nights.

The men-only venues are a short ride away. Depot on Via della Veterinaria is the best-known men's bar, with a labyrinth and themed nights, and Cactus near Piazza Portanova is a friendly cruising club. Blu Angels, in the Centro Direzionale business district, is the sauna, behind a discreet entrance.
Napoli Pride at the end of June gathers at Porta Capuana and marches through Forcella, the Rettifilo and Via Toledo to Piazza Dante. Rain, Arcigay's chapter in nearby Caserta, runs an LGBTQ+ centre there.

The entrance of the sauna is very discreet and first-timers may need directions: it is located on the groundfloor of the block which goes from Via Giovanni Porzio parallel to Via Taddeo da Sessa. Access is either from Metro station Centro Direzionale through the business quarter or (probably easier for a first visit) from the central station or Metro station Garibaldi via the small staircase in Via Giovanni Porzio. The entrance to the sauna is the black iron door with a small label Sauna. Admission: ≈ 15 €
