About LGBTQ+ Poznań
Poland decriminalised sex between men in 1932, earlier than much of Europe, but same-sex couples still have no legal recognition: parliament passed a bill creating a "closest person" status in May 2026, and President Karol Nawrocki vetoed it that July. Poznań, often called the country's queer capital, has long pushed the other way.
Much of the scene is tied to Grupa Stonewall, the local LGBTQ+ rights group. After losing its old venues on Półwiejska in 2022, it reopened that autumn as Nowe Lokum Stonewall, a community café-bar in the Imperial Castle on Fredry Street, and it also runs Hostel Stonewall, an LGBTQ+ hostel on Klasztorna in the old town.

For dancing, Posen Club on Aleja Niepodległości is the queer club, in the space that was once Próżność, and HAH (Heaven and Hell) on Małe Garbary is a big seven-room music club in the Stare Miasto, with karaoke. reFForm on Szkolna sells BDSM and fetish gear.
The Marsz Równości, the city's Equality March, takes place in June, starting and finishing on Aleja Niepodległości by the castle and looping through the centre. A separate Trans Pride march is held in the spring.
