Gay Guide to Hannover
Hannover, the capital of Lower Saxony, runs a long-established queer scene anchored by Schwule Sau, an LGBTIQ+ bar and event space in the Nordstadt that has hosted parties, drag, and concerts since 1991. The city is also home to one of the oldest gay saunas in Germany. CSD Hannover traditionally opens Germany's Pride season on the Whitsun weekend and is one of northern Germany's largest, with the festival centered around Opernplatz near Kröpcke.
