Gay Guide to Acapulco
Same-sex marriage is legal across Mexico. Acapulco, the storied Pacific resort city, has been a welcoming gay destination for decades, and in a landmark move officially named its La Condesa area the country's first recognized LGBT neighborhood, with the adjacent beach as the first official LGBT beach in Latin America.
Playa Condesa is the daily gathering point, a lively stretch of sand where gay locals and visitors meet under the Pacific sun.
Just off the beachfront Costera, the La Condesa area holds the nightlife, with bars, lounges, and late clubs; long-running spots like Demas Factory are local institutions.
Acapulco Pride Fest takes place each June, though the city leans more toward beach parties and drag nights than a large parade.
