About LGBTQ+ Natal
Brazil legalized same-sex marriage in 2013, and Natal, the sun-soaked capital of Rio Grande do Norte on the northeastern coast, is an easygoing beach city more than a nightlife destination. Its queer scene is modest but genuine.
Most visitors base themselves around Ponta Negra, the main beach neighborhood, close to the bars and the towering Morro do Careca dune.
