About LGBTQ+ Miami Beach

South Beach is the heart of gay Miami, an LGBTQ+ destination since the neighborhood's revival in the 1970s. The scene runs along Ocean Drive and around the 12th Street gay beach, with a walkable nightlife strip anchored by Palace, a drag institution on Ocean Drive, plus Twist and Kill Your Idol nearby. Miami Beach Pride takes over in April, closing with a festival at Lummus Park. The vibe is tropical, late, and beach-driven, mixing Art Deco streets, warm water year-round, and a club calendar that pulls circuit crowds. Winter and spring are the busiest stretch.
