Gay Guide to Aguascalientes
Aguascalientes legalized same-sex marriage in 2019, part of the wider wave of Mexican states extending marriage equality, though this central-Mexican city keeps a traditional, charro-cowboy character and the scene stays low-key.
There's no single gay district, but most of the bars are in the Zona Centro. Xtasis Mix Club on Avenida Madero and No Name Show Center on López Mateos do DJs, drag and karaoke, La Gran Diosa on Andador Pani runs tribute and drag shows, and Bear Bar Casa Danzante on Calle Hospitalidad is the bear bar.
The team behind Casa Danzante also runs Vagón 609, a men's bathhouse with a pool, and Aqua Steam is the sauna north of the city in Jesús María. CAVA, the Centro de Atención Vive Aguascalientes, offers HIV and STI testing and therapy.
The Pride March is held in June, and in 2025 it walked along Avenida Madero to the Plaza de Armas.
