Gay Guide to Tijuana

Tijuana, the border city just south of San Diego, has a lively, informal gay scene packed into its downtown Zona Centro. The pedestrian Plaza Santa Cecilia, one of the earliest meeting sites for the city's gay liberation groups, now holds several gay bars, with many more a short walk away along Avenida Revolución. Las Pulgas is a sprawling dance club with multiple rooms of music, joined by spots like El Ranchero for drag and Premier for a night out. Tijuana held its first Pride march in 1995, and the Marcha del Orgullo lands in late spring or summer. The crowd is mixed and the nights run late.
