San Jose, the largest city in Silicon Valley, anchors the South Bay's LGBTQ+ scene with a cluster of bars downtown. Splash is the area's main video dance club, Mac's Club is the oldest gay bar in the South Bay, and Renegades runs as the local leather and Levi bar near Diridon Station. The Billy DeFrank LGBTQ+ Community Center has served the community for decades. Silicon Valley Pride brings a parade and festival to downtown each year. The scene is smaller than San Francisco's to the north, but San Jose has its own steady set of venues and a large, diverse population to match.
