Gay Guide to Pittsburgh
Pittsburgh has no single gay strip; its scene is spread across neighborhoods like Shadyside, Lawrenceville, and Bloomfield, which gives each bar its own character. Images downtown is the main dance club, with queer nights at Cattivo in Lawrenceville and the no-frills Real Luck Cafe carrying on the old Penn Avenue bar tradition. Pittsburgh Pride fills the Cultural District each June with a parade across the Andy Warhol Bridge. The former steel city pairs its rivers, bridges, and revitalized neighborhoods with a low-key, welcoming scene.
