About LGBTQ+ Harrisburg

Harrisburg, Pennsylvania's capital on the Susquehanna River, has a small but established gay scene downtown. The longtime anchor is the four-floor club on North 3rd Street that opened as Stallions in 1985 and is now being relaunched as Karma, the region's main LGBTQ+ dance venue, alongside the Brownstone Lounge and 704 Lounge nearby. The Pride Festival of Central PA takes place on the state Capitol grounds. The scene is modest, built around a handful of downtown venues, and serves the wider central Pennsylvania region. Its riverfront setting and capital-city status give it a steady year-round crowd.
