About LGBTQ+ Montreal
Montreal's LGBTQ+ life centers on Le Village, a stretch of Sainte-Catherine Street Est that closes to traffic each summer and becomes a pedestrian boulevard of bars, clubs, and terraces. Anchors include the mega-bar Sky Pub & Club, the multi-floor Unity, and the legendary drag venue Cabaret Mado, with after-hours at Stereo. Fierté Montréal runs from late July into August, one of the world's largest Pride festivals by event count, closing with the parade. The city mixes a French-Canadian pace with a strong bar and drag culture, busy through the summer festival season and steady year-round.
