Gay Guide to Monterrey
Same-sex marriage has been legal across all of Mexico since 2022, and the northern industrial capital of Monterrey, though more conservative than Mexico City by day, comes alive after dark with one of the region's most energetic gay nightlife scenes.
Much of it centers on Barrio Antiguo, the historic old quarter that turns into one of the city's main entertainment districts at night, with a cluster of LGBTQ+-friendly bars and clubs among its cobbled streets.
The scene ranges from high-energy dance clubs to laid-back bars with drag and cabaret, drawing a mix of locals and visitors from across Nuevo León.
Monterrey Pride brings parades, parties, and community events each June, and the affluent suburb of San Pedro adds its own well-known nightlife.
