Gay Guide to Dundee
Scotland decriminalised sex between men in 1980 and legalised same-sex marriage in 2014. Dundee, on the east coast at the mouth of the Tay, has a small scene built around a few well-liked venues in the centre.
Kandy on Seagate, a couple of minutes from the bus station, is the city's biggest LGBTQ+ bar and a past winner of Scotland's best independent bar award. It is relaxed, with pool, during the week and turns into a club with drag and live acts on Fridays and Saturdays.
The Salty Dog on Crichton Street is a small gay bar with plenty of character and a resident DJ, and Prism on St Andrews Street is the LGBTQ+ nightclub.
Dundee Pride in late June marches through the city centre to an afternoon of entertainment and a Pride market at Slessor Gardens on the waterfront.
