Gay Guide to Brest
France legalized same-sex marriage in 2013, and Brest, a major naval port rebuilt after the Second World War at the western tip of Brittany, has a small but active queer scene with no single gay quarter. Venues are spread across the city center rather than concentrated in one district.
The nightlife anchor is Attitude, Brest's gay sauna, alongside a few gay and gay-friendly bars.
Brest Pride each June draws participants from across the region for a parade and street celebration.
The Brest Queer Film Festival each October rounds out the calendar, screening LGBTQ+ films from around the world.
