About LGBTQ+ Bogotá
Colombia's Constitutional Court legalized same-sex marriage on 28 April 2016, six votes to three, making Colombia the fourth country in Latin America to get there, and ruled at the same time that judges and notaries could not refuse to perform one on religious grounds. That court has done most of the country's LGBTQ lawmaking, usually ahead of Congress and frequently against it, which is worth knowing: the rights here were won in a courtroom rather than granted by a legislature.
Chapinero is the district, and the stretch locals call Chapigay carries most of it. Video Club, Vintrash, El Recreo de Adán, El Perro y La Calandria and Coyote Crazy sit within a few blocks, and the area is young, dense and busy well beyond the gay venues in it.

Theatron de Película deserves its own paragraph. It is a converted cinema holding more than a dozen rooms under one roof, each playing something different, on a single cover charge that includes drinks, and it is routinely described as the largest gay club in Latin America. Whether or not that title holds, nothing else in the city operates at that scale.
The bathhouses are numerous and central: Baños Turcos Saint Moritz, Casa Romana, Sauna 7 and Spa Sexto Sentido. High Park and San Sebastián are the gay-friendly places to stay, and Colombia Diversa does the national advocacy work.
Bogotá Pride fills a Sunday at the end of June. Two practical notes: the city sits at around 2,600 meters, so alcohol lands harder than you expect on the first night, and locals will tell you to use ride apps rather than flagging taxis after dark.
